Is my length of stay based on a predetermined program?

I just need to get away for a while. I don't really want anything like counseling. Is Cornerstone Lodge the right place for me?

How can I be sure that my stay, and the personal information I disclose, will remain confidential?

May I bring my spouse and/or children with me?

Question:

Is my length of stay based on a predetermined program?

Answer:

No. We have no preprogrammed, canned approach to helping our guests. As a guest of Cornerstone Lodge you decide what your needs are. That includes how long you want to stay. We do strongly recommend that you consider a minimum stay of 10 days. It often takes two or three days just to "decompress" and begin to think with greater clarity.

Answer:

Perhaps. A stay at Cornerstone Lodge should not be mistaken for a vacation. We have sunrise and sunset group devotional sessions and we encourage all of our guests to attend and participate. We will be glad to dialogue with you about your specific needs.

Question:

How can I be sure that my stay, and the personal information I disclose, will remain confidential?

Answer:

All records are kept on a non-network computer. Additionally, the staff is bound by law and, even more important to us, a strong personal commitment to keep confidential all information pertaining to each guest. However, we are mandated by law to report to the proper authorities any information pertaining to the specific issues of child abuse, suicide, or homicide.

Question:

May I bring my spouse and/or children with me?

Answer:

Yes. We encourage families to be our guests. We believe that the stress, anxiety, or unresolved issues affecting you also affect other family members, often in ways that are not easily noticed. Our approach to helping you includes helping your whole family. If you are trying to decide whether to bring your children, consider these three bits of information.

1. We do not have designated facilities for infant or childcare.

2. All children will remain the sole responsibility of the parents at all times and will participate in family counseling sessions.

3. We recommend that, if possible, other arrangements be made for children under the age of 5.
