To meet an increasing need for a safe place of growth and enrichment, we have created a retreat and encouragement environment for persons in ministry and Christian life.  In an intimate and restful setting on more than 600 acres of rolling woods, our guests are invited to participate in four distinctive retreat approaches as well as the more comprehensive 3 Strands Restoration Project.  All are provided to best meet their schedules and needs.

 

3 Strands Restoration Project

Imagine a place designed just for you - the individual or couple in Christian ministry.  You have poured out your life for God and His people, lived under strenuous pressure to perform, and have been tempted in all areas of life. 

The 3 Strands Restoration Project of Cornerstone Lodge is designed to bring about God's redemptive purpose even though men still fall.  Scripture tells us in Romans 11:29 that "God's gifts and call can never be withdrawn..."  We believe this so much that we have built a three strand and specific program based on Discovery, Recovery, and Redemptive processes to continue what God started when He faithfully blessed fallen men of Scripture.

Cornerstone Lodge specializes in reaching Christian leaders in crisis.  Our primary objective is to get you back into ministry, healed and restored.  You may be struggling with severe burnout, sexual addition including pornography, an affair, or other debilitating challenges.  Simply put, those called to minister are always under attack.  Cornerstone Lodge is a safe and confidential place of recovery for ministers who are ready to regain wholeness, holiness, and a new found freedom that furthers their call. 

Two excellent formats are proving to be of great help to many pastors and wives who come to Cornerstone Lodge.  A 3-weekend schedule gives some great time away for encouragement from our counseling staff for those whose schedules won’t permit an extended stay with us.  We begin on Thursday evenings, and conclude on Saturday afternoon, in time for you to return to your church on Sunday.  We also meet for an intensive 5-day Encouragement Retreat that runs on Monday through Friday. 

Many of our guests have requested that we lead Spiritual Formation Retreat.  We direct One-Day retreats in which we encourage our guests to arrive the evening before to insure a full day of regaining intimacy with God.  Our three-day and five-day retreats include a modified fast, prayer, and concentration on going deeper into our walk with the Lord.  Both lay and ordained church leaders have participated in these retreats.

"...possibly the gentle Father in the heavens would draw nigh if we could be quiet and rest a bit."  In his wonderful book, The Divine Consiprary, Dallas Willard writes about the importance of having regular periods in life to "discover incredibly good things...that you have a soul...that God is near and the universe is brimming with goodness."  These times of retreat can take the world off your shoulders for a while and interrupt your habits of constantly having to manage things.  In this two-night retreat, you'll have lots of quiet time for resting, taking a walk along a peaceful path, and being alone with God and a small group of other women who need the same things you need.   

Cornerstone Lodge is also available for small groups within Christian life, ranging from church staffs to small business groups, to conduct their own calendar or staff development retreats in day-long or overnight settings. We will be happy to accommodate your group’s budgetary needs as you come to Cornerstone Lodge for these workday retreats.
